In accordance with the provisions set forth by the New York State Law Enforcement Accreditation Program, the Town is required by Standard 20.1 Use of Force/Use of Deadly Force, to post our Departmental Policy on the use of force, (General Order 20.1), on our public website. This policy was revised on 10/20/20 pursuant to the New York State Executive Law Article 840 and was based on the model policy from the New York State Municipal Police Training Council.
