The East Greenbush Police Departments Patrol Division is a 24 hour 7 day a week operation. Each shift is run by a Sergeant of the department. In addition to the officers patrol duties, our officers respond to EMS calls with the WF Bruen Rescue Squad. Each patrol unit also has an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) assigned to it. Officers are trained annually in first aid and CPR.
The Patrol Division covers the entire 24.4 Square mile Town of East Greenbush and also assists neighboring jurisdictions when needed. Our officers are highly trained and dedicated to protect and serve.
Shift Sergeants as followed:
Midnights 11pm - 7am - Sgt. Ray Diaz
Days 7am - 3pm - Sgt. Mike Condo
Afternoons 3pm - 11pm - Sgt. Ernie Tubbs
Swing Shift - Sgt. Jay Martyn
The East Greenbush Communications Center handles all incoming calls to the police department and routes them to the appropriate emergency service agency. This division dispatches all police, fire, and emergency medical service agencies within the Town and administers all administrative first contact services of the Police Department either by phone or walk in assistance at Police Headquarters.
The East Greenbush Police Department Detective Office handles a wide variety of cases, primarily felonies, within the police department. Members of the Detectives Office carry a case load, work on assigned tasks and assist the patrol unit when needed.
The Detective Office is staffed by two Detectives, Detectives are also involved with all criminal and drug investigations, accident investigation, issuing warrants, compiling photo arrays, performing employee background checks, bad checks and the investigation of professional standards.
Criminals tend to cross town boundaries making it necessary for the Detective Office to work closely with area agencies to have a successful conclusion to cases assigned to the unit.
The Administrative Services Unit handles all the behind the scenes functions that keep the Department moving forward including Budget, Fiscal Management, Records Management, Pistol Permits, Grant Management, Training and Fleet Maintenance.
The Administrative Services Unit is also responsible for maintaining the Departments Policies and Procedures in accordance with the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services Accreditation Program. The East Greenbush Police Department became an Accredited Agency in 2017.
